International Trade Program Resources

“No region in the United States is more tied to international business and the international economy than the Puget Sound region. Whether you are a banker, barista or barber you are part of the global economy. If one in three jobs is tied to international business then one in three customers of every barber earns his income because of international trade. Our region's research institutions, universities, small and medium sized businesses, ports and cultural organizations all rely on international connections to remain competitive.”

From the Web site of the Trade Development Alliance of Greater Seattle

Each of the trade organizations below provides valuable information for individuals enrolled in the International Trade Certificate Program, whether you are a beginning student, a career professional, or a small business owner looking for ways to expand your business activities.

"CTED offers a wide range of customer services for economic development and trade within Washington state, including assistance for importing and exporting products, locating or retaining businesses, and supporting partnerships for community development.  CTED assists Washington state businesses in accessing the global marketplace by providing training and assistance, building international trade relationships, and advocating the importance of international trade to Washington’s economy."

"The Washington Council on International Trade works to support public policies favorable to expanded opportunities in the global marketplace.  Because Washington is the most trade-dependent state in the union, international trade is crucial to the state’s continuing economic prosperity and growth. WCIT is the only organization in Washington State whose mission is to educate, inform, and advocate for international trade."

"The mission of the Trade Alliance is to promote Greater Seattle as one of North America's premier international gateways and commercial centers. TheTrade Alliance has developed a strategic promotion plan to enhance the identity of Greater Seattle in targeted world markets through marketing publications, trade missions, and other activities. The Trade Alliance is establishing working relationships with export promotion, international tourism, and international trade and investment organizations to coordinate this marketing."
